Trampas A. Whalin practices in the areas of Criminal Law, Estate Planning, Personal Injury, and Civil Litigation. His experience has included representing clients throughout the State of Indiana. Trampas is admitted to practice in the state of Indiana, the U.S. District Court Northern District of Indiana, and the U.S. District Court Southern District of Indiana. Trampas is experienced in various practice areas and prepared to represent and advise his clients on a multitude of issues.
Trampas’s experience in Criminal Law started as an undergraduate at Ball State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a Major in Criminal Justice and Criminology, with honors. While attending Ball State University Trampas worked at a residential treatment facility for juvenile delinquents. Trampas then attended and graduated with honors from the Indiana University School – Indianapolis, where he was an Articles Editor for the Indiana Health Law Review, and a member of the Dean’s Tutorial Society. While a student at the Indiana University School of Law, Trampas was also a Certified Legal Intern for the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office in the Major Felony Division. Upon leaving law school, Trampas began working at the law firm formerly known as Adler Tesnar & Whalin (now Adler Attorneys), Trampas then founded and worked at the law firm of Dollard Evans & Whalin LLP until one of his law partners entered the judiciary as a Hamilton County Magistrate, thereafter forming the law firm of Whalin Legal.
Trampas's true passion has long been for the defense of others. Look no further than his vast experience of representing individuals charged with crime, and you can see his passion for this shine through. Throughout his career, Trampas has represented and/or advised both adult and juvenile clients throughout Indiana for a multitude of offenses ranging from Misdemeanor Offenses (including OWI, Theft, and Minor Consumption) to Felony Offenses (Rape, Child Molest, Burglary, Murder). Trampas has successfully represented criminal clients in a variety of matters and achieved successful results in probation violation hearings, plea negotiations and agreements, dismissals, diversion, to not guilty verdicts in Jury Trial. Trampas also represents clients in forfeiture defense.
Trampas has past experience and practice areas in Family Law include matters involving Divorce, Legal Separation, Division of Assets, Annulment, Parenting Time & Visitation, Child Support, Paternity, Name-Change, Guardianship, Emancipation, Parent Relocation, QDRO Preparation, Contempt Actions, Protective Orders/Restraining Orders, Enforcement of Settlement Agreements, and Post Decree Modifications. With his experience Trampas has represented clients in matters in formal litigation at Provisional Hearings, Final Hearings, and Post-Dissolution Hearings, through negotiation, and at both formal and informal Mediation. Trampas is also a Registered Family Law Mediator.
Trampas also represents clients in a variety of other issues including civil litigation and personal injury. Trampas has tried civil cases to completion and has also successfully settled cases at mediation and through negotiation on behalf of clients. Trampas is a Registered Civil Mediator.
Trampas grew up in Southern Indiana, but has resided in Noblesville, IN since 2010.
